Dark Matter eLiquid

Enjoy the wonderful flavor of our latest VapeSafe eLiquid - Dark Matter.

Dark Matter tastes like German chocolate cake. For those of you who have not had the fortunate to try a piece German chocolate cake recently, this is a great way to experience the flavor without getting any of the calories. German chocolate cake is a layered cake filled and topped with a coconut-pecan frosting. Traditionally sweet baking chocolate is used for the chocolate flavor in the actual cake. The robust filling and topping is a caramel made with egg yolks and evaporated milk. Once the caramel is cooked, coconut and pecans are stirred into the mixture. Finally, rich chocolate frosting is spread around the sides of the cake to hold in the filling.

Dark Matter eLiquid by VapeSafe captures the essence of German chocolate cake. Dark Matter eLiquid delivers plumes of vapor and rich chocolatey flavor that you'll want to enjoy again and again. Try Dark Matter today!

Description

R.E.M. pushed the jangle out of the picture with Monster, replacing it with reverberating snaps, crackles, and pops. An album that wraps itself to '70s glam finery while reaching out to the flannel-clad post-Nirvana throngs, it largely succeeds at demonstrating that these Georgians still know how to rock. The MTV fave "What's the Frequency, Kenneth?" kicks things off on a high note as Peter Buck's distorted power chords set the tone for the 12-song set. "Strange Currencies" may be alarmingly reminiscent of the Automatic for the People hit "Everybody Hurts," but it's actually the superior song. "Let Me In" is a heavily distorted nod to the fallen Kurt Cobain. While Monster is far from R.E.M.'s most consistent effort, it stands as a ragged and risky respite from safe and sound alterna-rock. --Steven Stolder

Summary: "2 1/2 stars"

I appreciate that REM went 180 degrees from AUTOMATIC FOR THE PEOPLE (still their best album) by lashing out with a sonic assault and some of the stuff on here is good songwriting. FREQUENCY, STAR 69 and STRANGE CURRENCIES are standouts, but the same reverb on every song? Come on, guys. I know you're pals with Thurston Moore, but jeez.....

There's been a lot of talk about STRANGE CURRENCIES being another version of EVERYBODY HURTS but not as many people mention that BANG AND BLAME is a reverb-attacked LOSING MY RELIGION with different lyrics. Unlistenable.

Ultimately, the follow-up album NEW ADVENTURES IN HI-FI is the bridge between MONSTER and AUTOMATIC. HI-FI also marks what I consider to be the end of REM, sadly.

MONSTER is great for completists or if you want some raucus over-loud 70's throwback music for party background, but it's far from REM's best.

Summary: "So its kinda heavy So what are you scared of Monsters?"

For some perspective my favorite REMs are Monster(94)-Murmur(83)-Document(87)...This review is simple- ALL the things that make/made REM a powerhouse are here and then some. The catchy yet atmospheric sounds, the jangly intricate music/vocals&harmonies- its all here just mixed in with some thicker guitars & louder drums for a wallish kind of sound (Ronettes&Slowdive had that wall of sound-does that make them too heavy or grunge(?) u cryin babies.) People be acting scared like this is heavy and loud like Testament or Madball WTF.
To me its mindboggling how supposed "hardcore REM fans" talk down on this all the way. I can understand if these "fans" don't dig every song on this record but with songs like "I don't sleep I dream","Strange Currencies","BangBlame","Let me in","You"- these softies are as beautiful and haunting as anything they've done before if not more. And its not like the harder songs lose REM's trademarks. Monster is everything REM ever was up to this point but with more ideas & sounds. Dosen't nessecarily make it better for those reasons but I hear this record beginning to end and enjoy the ride. If Sabbath,Stooges,Jane's Addiction, shoegazer style sounds aren't too heavy for you to handle and you already like/love REM then Monster should entertain and move you.

Summary: ""It's Only Rock 'N Roll", and that's OK"

REM pretty much put aside their folk influences on "Monster". Instead they used as their launching pad classic rock from the 60's and 70's - Velvet Underground, Lou Reed, David Bowie, Stones, and a little early punk - to make a loud rock album, with a twist to the left. This is announced by the opening electric guitar chords of the first track, "What's The Frequency, Kenneth?" My favorite tracks are "Crush With Eyeliner" (dark and murky) and "Bang And Blame" (a topic we all can relate to). "Tongue", with its falsetto vocal, sounds like a slowed-down version of The Stones' "Emotional Rescue". Two other very good tracks are "I Took Your Name" (similar to "Crush With Eyeliner") and "Circus Envy" (punk influence apparent). OK now, almost every good album has at least one bad track on it, and this one is no exception. "Let Me In", to me, is just a wall of noise with little musicality in it. But, that's why we have the "FF" and "Next Track" buttons. The final track, "You", is back on the right path. It is long and solemn with musical effects that I can only describe as "futuristically psychedelic". This album is good rock fun from a talented band that dared to experiment.

Was just listening to this yesterday. Really good album. Quite energetic. Peter uses some cool effects on his guitar as does Michael on his voice throughout most of the album. Reverb, Distortion, Feedback, excellent.

Summary: "Monster"

Monster being Rem's 9th studio album and 1994 release and the sound is alternative rock and is very good release. This is not simple radio friendly music but a bit more demanding. Rolling Stone gave the album 4.5/5 and Allmusic 2.5/5. I am in between a give it a 4. The best tracks on this release are "What's The Frequency, Kenneth" and "Crush With Eyeliner". 4/5.
